Treat Yourself: 6 Makeup Products You'll Love
Girl, if you're here for the all-work-no-play kind of makeup review, no offense but you can go some place else. Because the whole point of this beauty post, albeit informative, is for you to have a little fun.
Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
I have an irrevocable obsession with all things CHOC. Hot chocolate? Any season, any time of the day. Whittaker's bar? Can eat an entire bar in one sitting. I like chocolate ice cream, chocolate brownies, chocolate muffin, chocolate milkshake and — let's not waste time here. Just name it.
It just makes sense that this is my ultimate eye shadow palette pick. I love the strong color payoff, powder-to-cream texture, and the cocoa powder infusion that makes for the delectable chocolaty smell.
I swear every time I open this palette, my sweet tooth simply goes in full blast.
ColourPop Super Shock Blush
If there's any makeup product that I can live without, that's blush.
Or so I thought.
This ColourPop number changed my perception towards blush. It is what's accessory to any outfit, which Diane von Furstenberg called the "punctuation". It completes the makeup look; complements contouring, and gives off a healthy, flushed look.
Side note: I always lose my mind whenever I forget putting on my favorite blush, which is THIS very product.
NARS Velvet Lip Glide
It's not a gloss, it's not a liquid lipstick. NARS Velvet Lip Glide has a unique formulation that doesn't dry out your lips like all liquid lipsticks. It's the right balance of matte and gloss. It's easy to apply; you know how liquid lipstick requires perfect precision? It isn't as tiresome as that. At all.
It looks full and opaque on the lips. I have it in the shade Playpen, a natural peach pink tone. I can simply wear it everyday.
MAC Studio Fix Fluid
It's safe to say that this foundation serves as the 4th layer of my skin. When your makeup doesn't look put together despite the immaculate blending and precision of your eye shadow/liner and contour/ highlight, I've recently realized that the problem lies in the base.
It has full coverage and nice (not to mention 48 shades to choose from) color, meaning it saves your desperate a$s whenever you suffer from a bad skin day, regardless of what condition — acne in full blast, dull and dry skin, hyper pigmentation, etc.
The con? The trolls that say "you have too much makeup".
Starlooks Pro Eyeliner Pen
If you're a newbie to the winged liner department, Starlooks Pro has an easy-to-use, totally affordable product. There's no denying that it's a lesser known brand, so you know it's real when I recommend it myself.
I used to be so intimidated with eyeliner, but the moment I got this from my July Beauty Bag, it felt like the world changed its rotational direction. I ditched my go-to smokey eye (an eye shadow style that doesn't require even level 1 eyeliner skills) for winged eyeliner.
With its thin body and felt tip, it feels as though you are literally sketching a winged liner on your lids.
GOSH Lip OilWhen you're tired of all your matte lipsticks, this is the number to use. Apply it on top and you'll get lovely, slightly glossy lips.
Or you can apply it at night before you to sleep to wake up with lips that are easy to exfoliate in the morning. Bid your cracked disgusting lips farewell.
When the French word moi is used to humble brag about their skills (often used by those who are in the creative industry as in "makeup by moi"), I feel a tinge of vexation in my heart. But yeah, just wanted to say that the super cool makeup collages above are all made by me.
