A little shindig for your skin

From this day forward we are gonna celebrate our skin regardless of its color, type and state. And this, ladies, is how you do it. ----->

Makeup is like that friend you immediately text when you break up with your boyfriend. You trust that she's gonna give you the "so this is what you're gonna do now" sense of direction when things get very complicated and heartbreaking i.e. when your skin allies itself with your hormones to grow an empire of nasty zits. With makeup it's become your second nature to cover them up with carefully crafted layers of cosmetic products to regain your self-confidence.

But here's the thing: Not all friends are the same. Some would do just that, but some would just show up on your door and say "get in loser hunny, we're going shopping!" This friend shows you that anything can be a good reason to celebrate — even heartbreak, even acne.

And so on that note, allow me to be that friend with this blog post. If you're anything like me, you also have a love-hate relationship with your skin. I mean not everyday is a good skin day, what can I say? But that, you shouldn't be bothered with at this moment.

Because from this day forward we are gonna celebrate our skin regardless of its color, type and state.

And this, ladies, is how you do it.

1. Keep it fresh and nourished.

Nivea came up with the "What's the Secret to Beautiful Makeup?" campaign to introduce three of their new products, reminding all of us of the good ol' makeup advice that is beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin.

Cleanse & Care Face Wash* Cleanses thoroughly and mildly. Cream texture leaves skin smooth and ready for makeup.

Double Effect Eye Makeup Remover* Effectively removes waterproof mascara and eye makeup. Protects eye lashes.

3 in 1 Micellar Water Makeup Remover* Deeply cleanses, tones, moisturizes to keep skin soft and supple. Removes face and eye makeup gently without rubbing.
2. Enhance, don't hide it.
I'm not gonna lie. Makeup makes me feel much more empowered, but I know that the confidence it gives me is no more than a temporary boost. I like that makeup allows me to feel a lot more confident with my facial features, and I guess there's nothing wrong with that.

3. Listen to it.
Your skin is a reflection of your health. If you don't like the image that you see in the mirror, it's time to make some changes in your daily activities. Perhaps learn to meditate, relax more often, and pamper yourself. Exercise regularly and practice healthy eating habits.[no-sidebar]
