blacks, whites & the shades of gray in between

It's me learning to appreciate the idea of living in the moment, and the art of not giving a fashion f*ck: I'd wear whatever the hell I please, thank you so much.

SHEIN ARABIA blazer, shop it here. H&M top. BOOHOO earrings. HOLLISTER at Doha Festival City jeans. PUMA sneakers.

January is a beacon of hope for those who, until now, still hold on to the promise of "new year, new me." But for me, I've intently forgotten about the new year-induced self-improvement mindset. Somehow the nonchalance led me to putting less thought into the far future and more into the 'now', and to appreciate the idea of living in the moment; listening more to my body; being more mindful of my actions, thoughts, and emotions; and seizing every second.

And so to translate that to my sartorial choices as of late, I find myself actually listening more to how I want to feel at the moment and deserting the restriction of an outfit 'mismatch' as seen on Clueless (1995), the limitation imposed on me by my own 'gram, or the under/overdressed debate. To put it another way, it's me learning the art of not giving a fashion fuck. I'd wear whatever the hell I please, tysm.

So here's to going back to the basics and the neutrals — the blacks, whites, and the shades of gray in between — as one in a closet rut unfailingly does.

And to this plaid boyfriend blazer that's been permeating the street style scene — worn by so many contemporary fashion icons, styled in so many tempting ways i.e. over a flowy maxi dress, a hoodie, or a red jumper.
